Day 2: Journey from New Delhi to Rampur via Chandigarh

Your day kicks off early with a hearty breakfast before we head out for Chandigarh. The drive promises to be pleasant, with scenic morning views. By 12 PM, we’ll regroup in Chandigarh and begin the road journey to Rampur.

On the way, we’ll stop for a delicious lunch. The road trip to Rampur, including lunch and tea breaks, will take approximately eight hours. Nestled at an elevation of 4,000 feet, Rampur is a tranquil destination where you’ll check in Hotel. You’ll share the accommodation on a double occupancy basis. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Long Drive to Tabo

Get ready for a day of adventure as we set off at 7 AM from Rampur. With a packed breakfast in hand, we’ll drive towards Tabo, which is located at an altitude of 10,500 feet. This stop is crucial to help you acclimatize to the higher altitude. Along the way, we’ll take a break to enjoy lunch and soak in the stunning Himalayan views.

In Tabo, we’ll stay at a simple yet comfortable homestay, offering a glimpse into local life. This journey will take around 10-12 hours, depending on road and weather conditions. Double occupancy accommodations will be provided for the night.

Day 4 – 9: Exploring Tabo and Kibber

The adventure continues with a visit to the ancient Tabo Monastery, an awe-inspiring spiritual site. After spending some peaceful time here, we’ll head to Kibber, a picturesque village situated at an altitude of 14,500 feet. The two-hour drive to Kibber is filled with breathtaking landscapes, and we’ll keep an eye out for snow leopards along the way. If sightings occur, you’ll have a chance to pause, get your gear ready, and capture the moment.

Kibber is where the magic happens. Our accommodations here may be basic, but they’re designed for comfort in challenging weather. Since it’s winter, there won’t be running water, but hot water will be provided daily for freshening up. Toilets are dry, and essential items like wet wipes and toilet paper are available.

Our team ensures you’re well-supported: porters will carry your equipment, guides will maximize your chances of wildlife sightings, and safety measures like oxygen tanks and altitude adjustment arrangements are always ready. You’ll even have walking poles, portable chairs, and insulated mats for photography or just taking in the surroundings.

Over the next few days, you’ll immerse yourself in snow leopard tracking, guided by experienced escorts who prioritize your safety and enjoyment. If altitude sickness becomes an issue, arrangements will be made to lower altitudes promptly.
